Vampire Squid from Hell (Vampyroteuthis infernalis)
Sat, 12/27/2008 - 19:17
This creature from 3200 feet under the sea is the Vampyroteuthis infernalis (aka Vampire Squid). The Vampire Squid shares many similar features of the squids and octopuses. The Vampire squid is the only surviving (that we know of) member of the Vampyromorphida (formerly Vampyromorpha). Unlike the squids and octopuses, it has suckers at the end of each arm.
